WHAT IS MBRACE?
We spend a lot of time in anonymous spaces: big cities, metros, stations, universities, our work places etc. These are the spaces in which Mbrace wants to foster connection. By wearing an Mbracelet you show you can offer a listening ear.
Sometimes all a person needs is a listening ear. Share what is on their mind or a weight they're carrying, or simply feel seen by someone and sit quietly together.
There may be sorrows or just an everyday talk, a grandmother who passed away, a fight with a partner, a difficult conversation at work, or a thought you can't get out of your head. Sometimes just sharing is enough.
Would you prefer to be there for someone, instead of scrolling through Facebook on your way home in the bus or tube, or while having your lunch, wear an Mbracelet and lighten someone's day.
Wear the Mbracelet to signal that you are approachable for having a conversation or easing someone's day. Flip the bracelet when you are not available.
HOW IT WORKS
Mbrace signals to others that we can be a safe space for someone to share whatever it is they are ‘carrying’.
Wearing Mbrace shows that you are open for a ten-minute conversation.
Mbrace can be worn the other way around when you are not in the mood or have no time to spare.
Mbracelets bring people together in anonymous cities, or wherever people meet, even online.
Kindly note: Mbrace in no way mandates having a conversation.
The approacher would still verify and request for availability.
The choice remains with the individual who wants to share their time and mind-space.
IN YOUR ORGANIZATION
We are all connected.
IN YOUR ORGANIZATION
Mental health safety is a growing concern for many individuals and employers. We'd like to support the cause in the environment you might feel pressure or stress. Possibly you're carrying it with you to work as well.
You can now roll out The Mbrace Project in your organization. This will only magnify the connection of community. Mbrace can strengthen this feeling and create opportunities for deeper interaction between people in different layers of your organization.
People who feel relieved and peaceful after sharing their story and colleagues who are able to do something meaningful for other, both are more likely positive and better focused on their work.
WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE?
Mbrace can be used among employees. It can also be that you promote it to strengthen the social character of the service you provide. Various organisations and institutions can use Mbrace across the board, connecting employees, students, academic and service staff and more.

WE MBRACED IT ALL
A story of coming from different parts of the globe to connect and share.
FROM IDEA TO REALITY: THE EVOLUTION OF MBRACE
Without the help of Marina Toeters at Fashion Tech Farm in Eindhoven, this would have still been an idea instead of something that is making a difference in people's lives.
HOW THE IDEA WAS BORN
Some places feel like a safe space to share. Can we recreate this safe space with a bracelet? Please read to see a vision of Mbrace coming to life.
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION POWERED BY FASHION TECH FARM
Fashion Tech Farm is helping us to design and prototype the bracelets. Marina Toeters at Fashion Tech Farm is also an expert in sustainable production, helping us select material and production processes that are most sustainable. In this case, working with Econyl, a material made of recycled ocean waste.
MEANINGFUL INTERACTIONS WITH STRANGERS
When talking about Mbrace, people often tell us about meaningful interactions they've experienced with strangers. Find one here: "About five years ago, I was rather unglamorously crying in a restaurant bathroom. An older woman came out of a stall, washed her hands, and then turned to me to ask “Can I hug you?” I can no longer remember the argument that sent me to the bathroom to cry, but I remember that hug—warm, comforting, a completely random act of kindness from a stranger."
MBRACE VIA SOCIAL MEDIA
Being there for each other online
With social gatherings being reduced to a minimum due to corona, Mbrace provides the same help online. Simply use a picture in your profiles on social media wearing an Mbrace, so people know they can reach out.
